Is the Frontline MPW choker CSA certified? Compliance in Canada
Is the Frontline MPW choker anchor CSA certified?
No. Frontline rates it to OSHA 1926 Subpart M and OSHA 1910 and states it meets ANSI standards. For CSA-marked anchors, see our Safety Direct range.
How do I install the MPW wire rope choker?
Wrap the cable around a structural member that can take the load, pass the smaller ring through the larger ring, and attach your SRL or lanyard to the small ring. No tools.
MPW wire rope choker or MPS cross arm strap: which one?
The MPW is 5/16 in PVC-coated galvanized wire rope; the MPS is reinforced webbing. Both are non-penetrating wrap anchors rated 5,000 lb; the wire rope resists abrasion on sharp or hot steel, the web strap is lighter and kinder to finished surfaces.
Which length should I order, 4 ft or 6 ft?
Pick the length that wraps your member and still leaves the small ring free to pass through the large ring. Frontline does not publish a maximum member size; ask us if you are unsure.
How often should the MPW be inspected?
Before every use, and formally by a competent person at least once a year. Retire it after any fall or if the cable is kinked, frayed or the coating is cut through.
Pair the Frontline MPW choker with an SRL or lanyard
The MPW is the anchorage connector. Add a full-body harness and an SRL or shock-absorbing lanyard for a complete personal fall arrest system.
